We pulled the bulls this morning from the spring calving cows. Solution is looking better than ever before. He impresses us and visitors more everyday. Legacy came in looking as good as he did going out. He held up really well working his first big group of cows in the US and in the summer heat. We are excited about the '11 spring calf crop, whether they are ET, AI, or natural service sired they should be outstanding.

Red Angus of the Ozarks Sale

We pictured our bred heifer consignment to the Red Angus of the Ozarks Sale held in conjunction with Convention, Sept. 17 in Springfield, Mo. She is a Jan. '09 PIE Get R Done x Make My Day heifer that has lots of length, rib shape, and top. From the Copperlass family she is safe in calf to LCB Hoss for a Feb. 11 2011 calf. The early calving cows for 2011 are now moved to summer pasture and we will be weaning calves and pulling the herdbulls in about a month. Once we get that done we will send the rest of the spring cows to more summer pasture. It wont be long until we start getting ready for a few fall shows!

We preg checked the Feb calving recips yesterday and should have an excited set of matings next spring. The recips and donors for the July 12 flush also got their CIDRs yesterday. It's going to be hot when that flush rolls around but maybe we will have a good day.
We also pictured some spring calves for the Herd Ref. Edition of the ARA today as well as a great new pic of Solution who has been out breeding cows for a few weeks now. Look for it to be posted soon on the website along with the calf pictures.

We are excited about adding Perks Ms Chateau 323R to our donor lineup from the recent Perks Dispersal. She is a Chateau 878 x Rambo 323 bred cow and combines loads of capacity, a big powerful hip and a beautiful profile as good as any we have found.

We have had several successful flushes this spring and have one more set for July. Dina 2205, Rebella N3022, Bertha 312, Ms Chateau 323R (new addition from Perks Dispersal), Ms Rambo 21R, Tidy Bee 2066, Copperlass 2111, Blockanna 718, and Ms Advancer 610 are all on the books for this flush. We havent decided on all the matings yet but we have a week or two to think that out.
Our last flush included Stony 637S x UBAR Sequoia, Tidy Bee x Cowboy Cut, Copperlass 2111 x Cowboy Cut, Ms Advancer x Cowboy Cut, and Blockanna 718 x High Capacity 008.
The flush we sold to Cedar Creek Farm in the MO Sale yielded 23 embryos from Blockanna 678S and Sakic, congrats on a great buy!

The spring calves are looking great, most are ETs along with some naturals by our senior herdsire, Solution. The ETs and AI calves are sired byLCC Gold Robber, Northline Rob Roy, SLGN Unbelievabull, UBAR Sequoia, Fineline Mulberry, LJC Mission Statement, PIE Get R Done, and Six Mile Sakic. Later this spring we will have our first Brylor Legacy calves, our top selling bull from Brylor's '09 Bull Sale. He's a Pasquale son from a maternal sister to New Trend.

We had a successful flush on Sara 328 (dam of the popular Sara 817), she gave six embryos sired by Red Howe Bold Edition, a powerful Mulberry son.

Saturday was day one for synchronizing recips and setting up donors for our May 10th flush. We will have about 45 recips to implant and will be flushing Copperlass 2111, Blockanna 718, Tidy Bee 2066, Copperlass 406 and Stony 637S. Wee havent quit decided on sires yet but have a little time to make the decisions.
